RUN TOGETHER.
COMPETE TOGETHER.

Bring your coworkers, running club, friends or family together for the Gate River Run Corporate & Open Team Competition.

The Team Experience

Everything Is Better as a Team.

The Gate River Run is more than an individual challenge. It’s an opportunity to build friendships, encourage fitness, strengthen workplace connections, and experience race day together.

Our Corporate and Open Team Competition adds another exciting dimension to the Gate River Run. Whether you’re part of a large company, a small business, a running club, or a group of friends, there’s a place for your team.

15K or 5K

Team members can participate in either distance.

All Abilities Welcome

Runners and walkers can contribute to team participation.

Compete for Awards

Recognition for both participation and 15K team performance.

Choose Your Division

Two Ways to Compete

Teams compete in one of two divisions, giving both workplace groups and community teams an opportunity to participate.

DIVISION 01

Corporate Teams

Bring together your coworkers and represent your company or organization at Jacksonville’s premier running event.

It’s a great way to encourage employee wellness, strengthen team spirit, and enjoy a shared goal outside the workplace.

DIVISION 02

Open Teams

Gather your running club, training partners, friends, or family members and compete as an Open Team.

Open Teams offer a fun and competitive way to represent your community and share the Gate River Run experience.

Getting Started

How to Create or Join a Team

Creating a team is easy. Follow these steps to get your group registered and ready for race day.

1

Choose a Team Captain

Select one person to organize the team and manage the registration process.

2

Register for the Race

The Team Captain registers individually for either the 15K or 5K.

3

Create Your Team

During registration, the Team Captain can create a team and select its name.

4

Invite Team Members

Encourage coworkers, friends, family members, or fellow runners to join your team.

5

Register & Select Your Team

Each participant registers individually and selects the team name from the dropdown list during registration. The captain can monitor team registrations and make necessary changes.

Stronger Together

Every Runner Counts.

Whether you’re racing for a personal best or walking with your teammates, every participant helps your team compete for participation awards.

Team Recognition

Team Competition & Awards

There are two opportunities for teams to earn awards: total participation and competitive 15K performance.

Participation Awards

Largest Teams

The three teams with the highest total participation receive awards.

  • Both 15K and 5K entries count toward the team total.
  • Corporate and Open Teams compete together for these awards.
  • Awards are presented to the top three teams overall.
Competitive Awards

Fastest 15K Teams

Awards are presented to the top three teams in each division.

  • Corporate and Open Teams are scored separately.
  • The first four team members to finish determine the team score.
  • Results are calculated using chip times.
  • Scoring members may be any combination of genders.
Important: Participation awards include both the 15K and 5K. Competitive team awards are based exclusively on 15K results. A minimum of four 15K finishers is needed for a competitive team score.
Good to Know

Team Competition Essentials

Individual Registration

Every team member must register individually for the Gate River Run and select the correct team.

Four Scoring Finishers
