Junior River Run
FREE one-mile fun run for kids 13 & under
Presented by the Gate River Run and JTC Running. Parent/guardian registration is required for all participants.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Team participants must pre-register.
Individual runners may register online or on race morning.
Parent/guardian must complete registration for each child.
Race Day Schedule
Packet Pickup and Registration: Jacksonville Shipyards
9:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Pick up bib + shirt
Assembly Area: Assemble on grass near the starting line
All participants should be in the assembly area by 10:45 AM.
Start Line: Main start inflatable on Bay Street (Jacksonville Shipyards)
Race Start: 11:00 AM
Parents may run with their child if needed. If your child is comfortable running independently, we appreciate parents waiting at the finish line to keep the course clear and safe.
Course
The race starts at the main start inflatable near the historic Shipyards fire station. The course is a half-mile out-and-back, finishing at the start/finish area.
In-School Training Program
Schools can participate in an 8-week program that helps students build healthy habits and get race-day ready.
Students who complete the program receive:
- Free Junior River Run entry
- Free “Training for the Junior River Run” t-shirt
- Official Junior River Run race t-shirt
Goal: run 8.3 miles during training, then complete the one-mile race—together that’s the full 15K distance.
